Privacy Policy

This document explains what data dknades.com receives about you, why it is needed, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read in full.

Last updated: 7 August 2026.

1. Who processes your data

Your data is processed by the administration of dknades.com (the “Site”).

For any question about your data, write to us through the contact form. We reply within 30 days.

2. What data we receive

When you are just reading the Site

  • technical request data — IP address, browser type, language, the page you opened. It lands in the web server logs and is used to find failures and to fend off automated attacks;
  • cookies — see section 6.

When you sign in through Steam

An account can only be created through Steam. There is no other way to register. A password sign-in is kept separately for site staff; it creates no new accounts.

We never ask for and never receive your Steam password: you enter it on Valve’s side, and the Site receives only:

  • your permanent Steam identifier (SteamID64);
  • your Steam display name;
  • your avatar — a copy is stored on the Site so that the page does not depend on Valve’s servers being reachable.

If your account on the Site has an e-mail address, it is used only for service messages — for example, about what happened to your submission.

When you submit a lineup

  • the contents of the submission: map, grenade type, side, points on the radar, description, screenshot, video;
  • the link between the submission and your account. If you tick “do not show my name”, the lineup is published without an author — but the link to your account remains, so the lineup stays yours in your profile and a moderator can reach you.

When you use the contact form

Only two fields are required — a nickname (any nickname, an invented one included: we do not verify it and never match it against any real name) and the text of your message. Optional — an address to reply to (if you want an answer) and a link to the page where you noticed something. None of this is kept in the Site’s database — it goes straight to us by e-mail; we read it only to act on your feedback or to look into a fault. We do not establish who you are, we build no profile, and we pass it to no one.

The counter

We count how many people reach the submission form, so we can tell where the interface breaks. The counter records the step, a random token, the language, the time and — if you are signed in — your account number. It does not record your IP address and never leaves the Site.

3. Why we need it

  • to show you the Site and let you use an account;
  • to accept your submission, review it and publish it;
  • to reply to you if you wrote to us;
  • to understand at which step people give up, and fix it;
  • to defend against spam and automated attacks.

We show no advertising, build no advertising profiles and sell no data.

4. On what legal basis

  • Your consent — for the counter and non-essential cookies. Consent is given through the banner at the bottom of the screen and can be withdrawn;
  • Necessity — for your account, for publishing lineups and for answering you: without this data the Site cannot do the thing you came for;
  • Our legitimate interest — for server logs and protection against attacks.

5. Who your data is shared with

Only with those the Site cannot run without, and only as far as necessary:

  • Valve Corporation (Steam) — authentication. Valve learns that a sign-in happened; you type your password on their side, not ours;
  • Brevo — e-mail delivery. The recipient address and the message text are sent;
  • OpenAI — machine translation. The text of published lineups and guides is sent, so that the Site can exist in five languages;
  • YouTube (Google) and Vimeo — playback of embedded video. Your IP address and cookies are sent, and only if you open a card containing such a video. Which of the two depends on where the lineup's author uploaded the clip.

Some of these services are located outside the Russian Federation, which makes the transfer cross-border. We do not pass data to third parties for advertising and we do not sell it.

Please note: the text you submit with a lineup is sent for machine translation once it is published. Do not put anything personal in it.

6. Cookies

  • the session cookie — keeps you signed in. The Site does not work without it;
  • dk_consent — remembers your answer to the consent banner;
  • YouTube or Vimeo cookies — appear only if you open an embedded video.

There are no advertising or third-party analytics cookies on the Site.

7. How long we keep it

  • your account and your lineups — until you ask us to delete them;
  • server logs and the error log — bounded in size: old entries are pushed out by new ones;
  • deleted lineups — 30 days in the bin, after which they are removed for good. The video and screenshot uploaded with them do not go to the bin: they are separate files and are deleted on request;
  • e-mail — on the mail provider’s side, under their rules.

8. Your rights

You may:

  • find out what data of yours we hold;
  • ask us to correct it;
  • delete your account and the data attached to it;
  • withdraw your consent.

A message through the contact form is enough. Leave an address in it if you want a reply. We answer within 30 days.

Withdrawing consent does not undo processing that has already happened, and does not automatically delete lineups that are already published — write to us separately about those.

If our answer does not satisfy you, you are entitled to complain to the competent supervisory authority or to go to court.

9. How we protect your data

The connection to the Site is encrypted (HTTPS). Access to the administrative area is restricted. We do not store your Steam password, because we never receive it.

10. Changes to this document

If this document changes, the date at the top changes with it. We will announce material changes with a banner on the Site.
